TENTATIVE ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrive in Florence, Italy


Welcome to Florence! Group transfer by coach to your hotel in Montecatini Terme, famous for its thermal waters and that can be considered the biggest “spa town” in Italy.


Gather the hotel lobby at 6.30pm to meet your Tour Director and traveling companions in the hotel lobby for a welcome reception and dinner at the hotel. (Dinner)

Day 2

The Chianti


This morning is free to relax at the hotel, to make shopping or to spend some time at one of the several spa in the city.


In the afternoon leave for the Chianti region, a surprisingly wild part of Tuscany, with densely wooded hills and vineyards. Visit a Pasta factory, then move to the Castello di Verrazzano to visit its gardens and wine cellar and for a delightful dinner with wine tasting. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 3

Florence


This morning enjoy a full day excursion to Florence, including the visit to the Academy Gallery, home of Michelangelo’s David. Your guide will bring you to visit the central market, the “Mercato Centrale” where you could try the authentic Florentine street food. In the afternoon make a stop to a historic ice-cream parlor to taste the Italian gelato. (Breakfast)

Day 4

Montepulciano – Montalcino


Today board your coach for a full day excursion to Montepulciano and Montalcino, famous all over the world for its wines. The first stop is in Montepulciano for a visit to a farm followed by lunch with wine tasting, then move to Montalcino, famous for Brunello, probably Italy’s most famous and expensive red wine, to visit another farm with wine tasting. (Breakfast , Lunch)

Day 5

Siena – San Gimignano


After breakfast, depart the hotel with your coach for a full day excursion to Siena and San Gimignano. You will have a guided walking tour of the city of the Palio, to discover the secrets of its “contrade” and to visit the magnificent Cathedral; then move to San Gimignano for a visit to a local farm including wine tasting and lunch followed by an orientation tour of this medieval town located on a hill-top. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 6

Vinci area


Another free morning for personal activities, then move to a farm near Vinci for a guided visit of the estate, followed by a cooking lesson and dinner. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 7

Bolgheri


Today you leave Montecatini Terme to go to your hotel near Rome airport. Drive along the Livorno coast where you will find the small but excellent vineyards of Bolgheri, which now holds a place of honor among Tuscany’s most dynamic wine zone. Make a stop en route to a winery for wine tasting and light lunch. Upon your arrival at the hotel, relax a little before gathering for your farewell dinner to Italy.

Day 8

Rome


Your vacation ends with breakfast this morning, take a taxi or hotel shuttle to get Rome airport. (Breakfast)
