Rock & Roll History in the neighborhoods of Notting Hill, Kensington, St John’s Wood & Chelsea

“I dreamed for 30 years of walking across Abbey Road. It was amazing but I never expected to see all this other stuff. Your guide was so knowledgeable and a great entertainer. It was nearly 4 hours of pure magic!”

Afternoon Tour

We call this our Classic Rock legends tour because it covers sites and locations relevant to the history of so many 60s, 70s and 80s artists in the elite neighbourhoods of Chelsea, Kensington, Holland Park, Notting Hill Gate, St John’s Wood, Marylebone and the West End. We’re touring sites that made the Sixties swing; where London’s hippy underground ‘counter-culture’ took off; and where the 70s punk revolution took place! You’ll See the boutiques, pubs and clubs that made these decades, inspiring hundreds of well-known lyrics. Ideal for Beatle fans, you’ll see Brian Epstein’s flat, Ringo’s Kings Road apartment, John and Yoko’s first home, Paul’s current London home, the EMI studio where the St Pepper’s cover was shot, the Apple Office and boutique, and where the ‘Mop Tops’ the played their last ever live gig. There are lots more other Beatle and related landmarks. And, YES, you do get to walk across that famed ABBEY ROAD crossing!

If other classic acts such as Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Bob Marley, Queen, the Stones and Bowie are you favourites then you wont be disappointed. The tour also covers where Geldof conceived Band Aid and Live Aid, where and how the Sex Pistols was formed, the Clash’s neighbourhood and the cradle of Reggae There are heaps of sites to please Pink Floyd fans. We pass the homes of Freddie Mercury, Bowie, Bolan, Jimmy Page, Macca and Clapton, to name a few and see where Jimi Hendrix died. With so many celebrities living in this part of London you never know who you might see in passing! For Stones fans there’s the legendary Edith Grove apartment, various of Jagger’s houses, the ‘Sticky Fingers’ restaurant. We’ll also surprise you with sites related to a host of band that you’ll never have realised had such strong London connections. All this plus studios, record company offices, gig sites, secluded hotels favoured by the stars, album cover locations and story, after story, after story from your informed rock guide.
