London’s Home Front & World War Sites
“London in Wartime”
A great day out in London - Try something a Brit Different!
Discover London from another perspective - off the beaten path in the Capitol.
Trace the footsteps of soldiers on leave from both world wars, see specific places of interest to either Americans, Canadians or Commonwealth troops. 'Relive' the Blitz, see some of the remaining scars and hear about the experiences of those on England’s ‘Home Front’ from your personal guide and also at the exhibit at The Imperial War Museum. Visit the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms, the underground complex where Churchill and his government met as bombs rained down on London in 1940. There’s the option of St Paul’s Cathedral, where you’ll hear the tale of how the Home Guard saved it from the Blitz. Here is where Churchill’s state funeral took place; also see the eight-metre long Winston Churchill Memorial Screen.
This tour is not run as a scheduled departure; the tour will be just yourselves with your own, private driver/guide.
We would pick you up from your Central London hotel at 8.30 and return you there at approximately 6PM. Entrances to any attractions and lunch is at your own expense but we will of course assist with a great place for you to eat!
