2019 100th/442nd Memorial, 75th Anniversary Tour of France Battlefields – 11 day tour

July 5th–July 16th, 2019

Families of the brave Japanese American WWII Veterans

12 days/11 nights: 10 days on the battlefields - "The Long Tour"

Meet your Guide: Nora De Bievre

Some of you may already know Nora from the 70th Anniversary tours to France in 2014 or Italy in 2015, or from meeting her at the Nisei Veterans Reunions in Las Vegas.

A native of Belgium, Nora has combined a passion for helping visitors discover the joys of European countries with a keen interest in history. Battlefield itineraries are her specialty, both for First and Second World War and she happily digs through archives to find that extra bit of information that makes her tours very personal for those tracing their family history. Her battlefield resume includes retracing the movements of a Canadian artillery sergeant from coming into the line in the Great War to the first aid post in the field where he was taken after being wounded; travelling with a Halifax crew member from his crash site in the Netherlands across Belgium while introducing his children to the resistance families who provided him with shelter and being present at the excavation of an Australian mass grave along the Western Front in northern France. Having come across the story of the Nisei soldiers many years ago while living in Hawaii would prove rather serendipitous when she was asked to lead the 70th Anniversary tour in 2014.
