It hardly seems credible but 2012 marks the 50th Anniversary of the world’s greatest rock’n’roll band. This special tour will appeal to both longer-term fans and those who want to fully understand enjoy the many commemorative and celebratory events and retrospectives that are sure to mark 2012.
The Stones story covers all of greater London; our exploration take in everything from the childhood homes and schools of Jagger and Richards in Dartford, the bands early days in Ealing and Richmond, their Edith Grove cradle, and their final and continuing conquest of the capital of rock’n’roll.
You’ll see where seminal events in their ascent to the top took place; their first gigs sites, their first recording sessions and where famed publicity shots and album covers were taken. You‘ll see and visit locations that inspired the lyrics of ‘Satisfaction’, ‘It’s Only Rock n Roll’, ‘19th Nervous Breakdown’, ‘Street Fighting Man’ and many more.
You’ll learn about the darker side to their history; the drug busts, the girlfriends, the deaths. You’ll see past and present homes. There are over 50 Stones-related sites on this fully-guided, comprehensive tour, including ‘Bill Wyman’s ‘Sticky Fingers’ restaurant with its unique and unsurpassed collection of memorabilia.
Throughout our day we make full use of our DVD and CD playing facilities to watch and listen to historic performances. And with an expert Rolling Stones guide to accompany you throughout, you can expect a memorable day of historical information and fun!
