TENTATIVE ITINERARY

Day 1

ARRIVAL AT TURIN Upon your arrival at Turin airport meet your driver and board a luxury car for your private transfer to the hotel chosen for your vacation. Check in at the hotel then relax or have a stroll along the streets close to the hotel to acquaint with the area. Turin is full of restaurant and also historical bars, so you can end your day having a traditional dinner or tasting the typical “Bicerin” – an exquisite, hot drink mixture of espresso, chocolate and fresh cream.

 

1 night at your hotel centrally located, breakfast and city tax included.

Day 2

BIKE RIDE TURIN TO PINEROLO (ABOUT 50 KM) The bike adventure starts! Your e-bikes will be delivered to the hotel in the morning, then you will enjoy a 4 days rental along the area south of Turin. While touring by bike, your luggage will be delivered directly to the next hotel. The first stop-over is Pinerolo. Pinerolo, 35.000 inhabitants, lies at the entrance to the Chisone Valley, with the Cozie Alps rising behind it. For visitors, Pinerolo has a full calendar of interesting cultural events and fascinating museums like the Italian Cavalry Museum (Museum dell’Arma della Cavalleria). Or they can stroll along the streets of the city centre under the three kilometres of covered arcades and visit the historic San Donato cathedral and Palazzo Vittone. Leave the bikes and relax at your hotel, where you will find your luggage.

Day 3

BIKE RIDE PINEROLO TO FOSSANO WITH STOP IN CAVOUR (ABOUT 60 KM) Luggage delivery Pinerolo to Fossano After breakfast, prepare for your next stop-over : great location and extremely rich in art and culture, Fossano was an important center of reference of the Savoy family. Thanks to its strategic location and territory full of fascinating natural elements, Fossano enchants with its beauty.

Day 4

BIKE RIDE FOSSANO TO SERRALUNGA D’ALBA (ABOUT 45 KM) Luggage delivery Fossano to Serralunga d’Alba We suggest a detour to Bra, to visit the wine bank and taste local products (visit not included). The visit provides a brief introduction to the complex history of the Gothic Albertine, University of Gastronomic Sciences, Slow food movement and La Banca del Vino. Upon arrival in Serralunga, check in at the hotel and enjoy the nearby area: you are in the Langhe region, famous all over the world for its wines like Barolo, Barbaresco and Moscato d’Asti and also for the Alba truffle.

 

2 nights in Serralunga d’Alba or nearby villages, breakfast and city tax included.

Day 5

TRUFFLE HUNTING NEARBY OF SERRALUNGA D’ALBA Today you will enjoy a private excursion for the Truffle hunting. Together with your local expert truffle guide and an Englishinterpreter. After a brief walk through the vineyards to enjoy the scenic views, you’ll be off in the woods exploring with your truffle expert and his trained dog. Sniffing through the misty woods of Piedmont, the truffle-hunting dog will suddenly search in one specific spot and when it will start digging its paws into the soil, the guide will rapidly stop it to gingerly explore further into the ground. He will then remove the hidden treasure: a large walnutsized white truffle. The truffle hunt lasts approximately an hour, upon which you will learn how to analyze truffles from a technical and sensory point of view, as professional truffle tasters do. You will learn more about the black and white truffles, why they are considered a foundation element of the slow-food movement, how to use them, how to taste them and how to preserve them. Then, you may continue the experience with a terrific truffle lunch. Your guide will give you suggestions where to go for a great meal near or in Alba to taste local truffles! Rest of the day is free to visits the nearby village of Alba or Barolo, which gives name to the red wines made there from the Nebbiolo grape.

Day 6

BIKE RIDE SERRALUNGA D’ALBA TO ASTI (ABOUT 45 KM) Luggage delivery to Asti. Asti is one of the most important cities of art in Piedmont and birthplace of Vittorio Alfieri, the famous 18th century poet and dramatist. The old town is picturesque and charming, opening onto the triangular shaped Piazza Alfieri, where the town’s famous Palio (horse race) is staged. Check in at the hotel then have a walk along the medieval city narrow streets lined with old buildings including towers, palaces and churches where many parts of the old wall still remain intact. And relax in one of the many cafes and local bars for a cocktail with the popular Asti Spumante.

 

1 night at the hotel in Asti, breakfast and local city tax included. Leave the bike at the hotel in the evening, they will be picked up the next day

Day 7

TURIN (END OF TOUR) Your bike adventure ends today. After breakfast you will board you private car for the transfer to Turin, to spend your last day in Piedmont region, or according to your flight time, transfer directly to Turin airport to take your flight.
